I believe that people look best in their photographs when they are natural they are feeling relaxed; because of this, I spend a lot of time making sure my clients are truly themselves. This means that we take our time during the session, I don’t schedule appointment’s close together and I know that you will need five or ten minutes in front of the camera before you start to “warm up” and we get the best picture.

I often get “it was more relaxed than we expected and we enjoyed it!” – I use this process with all our clients from toddlers upwards. With very young babaies it is often necessary to feed them, wind them and change them in the studio and they may need time to get used to their surroundings before they are content. With quite new babies or more nervous babies, sometimes we only have a small window to get the shots as they get tired easily. I always stop the shoot when the child gets tired or unhappy – happy children make for happy pictures! Breastfeeding is welcome in the studio and feel free to bring snacks or favourite toys if you feel your child may need the extra comfort.

In terms of preparing for the shoot please bring in a couple of outfits for your child and any items of sentimental value such as toys or blankets that you would like to include in the photographs. The photoshoot is very informal and relaxed and I hope a fun experience! With regard to clothing I do not suggest any particular colour, but a good tip is to “dress for your sofa” and wear clothes that won’t violently clash with your furnishings if you do eventually choose a wall
print. For newborn shoots if the parents wear black long sleeved tops this works well as the baby can be cuddled and comforted whilst the jumper acts as a good background and provides a great contrast in black and white photographs.

After the photoshoot we will arrange a date and time for your pre-sale preview. We keep the images for life under our Archive for Life scheme so you are not under pressure to purchase. We won’t hard sell but obviously we hope you enjoy the images enough to want to own your own copies at some point! So you are completely informed we will send you a copy of our current pricelist prior to the photoshoot. Please note that the prices on the pricelist are the prices at the pre-sale preview and INCLUDE a 20 percent price reduction when you buy at that session. If purchased after the viewing this discount is not included.
